Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have successfully identified the main trends and provided a clear overview of the data. You covered all the key features, such as the rise in appliance ownership and the decline in housework hours. However, there are some inaccuracies in the data reporting. For example, you stated that housework hours were '50%' in 1920 and '205' in 1960, which does not align with the likely units (hours per week). Additionally, the statement that refrigerator usage started at 0% in 1920 is a good observation, but ensure your data points are precise. Overall, the response is well-structured and addresses the prompt effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs focusing on appliances and housework respectively. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In addition', 'Although', and 'After that' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions could be more sophisticated. The referencing is generally clear, but the progression of ideas within the paragraphs could be smoother to achieve a higher band. Overall, the structure is coherent and easy to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportion', 'stabilized', 'utilization', and 'remained unchanged'. There are some minor errors in word choice, such as 'number of hours of house works' (should be 'housework') and 'fell down' (a bit informal). While you attempt to use varied vocabulary, some phrases are repetitive. To improve, try to incorporate more precise collocations and avoid phrasal verbs that are too informal for an academic report. The current range is sufficient to convey the meaning clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this task. However, there are several grammatical errors, such as missing articles ('Vaccum cleaner was used'), incorrect verb forms ('number of hours that spending for housework'), and punctuation issues. Some sentences are slightly awkward, such as 'In 1960 it also reached to 100%'. While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and article usage will help improve your accuracy.
