The first graph illustrates the percentage of electrical household items like washing machine, refrigrator and vacuum cleaners over the period of 1920 to 2019, while the second graph depicts total number of hours of housework per week over the same period of time.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response covers all parts of the task by identifying the main trends in appliance ownership and housework hours. You successfully highlighted the inverse relationship between the two datasets. However, the analysis could be improved by being more precise with data points. For instance, stating that washing machine ownership 'touched 70% 1960' is slightly vague, and the description of the minor drop in 1980 could be more analytical. To reach a higher band, ensure that all comparisons are clearly linked to the provided data and avoid minor inaccuracies in reporting figures, such as the claim that refrigerators reached 100% by 1980 when the graph shows a plateauing trend.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The response is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'Although', and 'Secondly' to guide the reader. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by mechanical phrasing and some awkward transitions. For example, the sentence 'Although, only 30% of houses have vaccum cleaners in 1920 their quantity frequently increased' lacks a smooth connection between the clauses. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing is precise will help create a more professional and cohesive flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'prominent increment', 'depicts', and 'remained steady'. However, there are several spelling errors ('refrigrator', 'vaccum', 'refgritors') and some word choice issues, such as using 'quantity' to refer to the percentage of households. Using 'quantity' implies a count of items rather than a proportion of households. To improve, focus on using more precise terminology for data trends, such as 'proportion', 'ownership rates', or 'fluctuated', and ensure careful proofreading to eliminate basic spelling mistakes.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb tenses and prepositions. For example, 'there were no refgritors, but there numbers quickly increased' (should be 'their') and 'the number of hours of work wew standing' (should be 'were'). Additionally, some sentences are slightly clunky, such as 'gained back its potential by 2000'. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage when describing historical data. Reducing these minor errors will significantly improve the clarity and professional tone of your writing.
