Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

You have successfully identified the main trends and provided a clear overview of the data. You covered both the ownership of appliances and the time spent on housework. However, the report lacks precision in data reporting. For instance, you mention the washing machine 'increased around 70 percent' without specifying the timeframe or the peak, and the description of the vacuum cleaner is vague ('significant ownership'). To reach a higher band, ensure that all key features are supported by specific data points from the charts. The comparison between the two charts is present but could be more explicitly linked to show the inverse relationship between appliance ownership and time spent on chores.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Overall', 'On the other hand', and 'Initially'. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by mechanical errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'along with that the number of hours'. The use of punctuation is inconsistent, particularly with capitalization and hyphenation (e.g., 'vaccum' is misspelled). Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the overview from the specific details, but the transition between the two body paragraphs could be smoother to better connect the appliance trends with the housework time trends.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'utilization', 'significantly', and 'drastically'. However, there are several spelling errors, such as 'vaccum' and 'comapred', which detract from the professional tone. The range is somewhat limited, and you rely on basic structures to describe trends. To improve, try to incorporate more varied collocations for describing data, such as 'a steady climb', 'a sharp decline', or 'remained relatively stable'. The vocabulary is sufficient to convey the main points, but the lack of precision and spelling mistakes prevents a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('The line charts... illustrates'), missing articles ('no use of refrigerator'), and awkward sentence fragments ('while, time spent on housework...'). Punctuation is also problematic, with inconsistent capitalization after periods and unnecessary commas. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that every sentence has a clear, grammatically correct structure.
