Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have successfully identified the main trends and provided relevant data points for both charts. However, the overview is slightly inaccurate; you stated that the washing machine 'utilized the highest electricity,' which is not supported by the data provided (the chart shows ownership percentages, not electricity consumption). Additionally, the overview should ideally synthesize the relationship between the two trends—the rise in appliance ownership and the decline in housework hours. While you covered the key features, the analysis of the data is sometimes imprecise, such as describing the refrigerator reaching 100% as 'remaining unchanged' when the data ends at that point.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The response is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs focusing on the two distinct charts. You use some cohesive devices like 'Meanwhile' and 'Turning to,' which help the flow. However, the progression of ideas within paragraphs is occasionally mechanical. For example, the transition between sentences in the first body paragraph feels like a list of data points rather than a cohesive analysis. Improving the use of referencing and varied linking words would help the ideas flow more naturally between sentences.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the main points, such as 'proportion,' 'sharp increase,' and 'dramatically inclined.' However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation. For instance, 'electrical current appliance' is not standard terminology, and 'utilized the highest electricity' is factually incorrect based on the prompt. You also have some minor errors in pluralization, such as 'equipment's' (which should be 'equipment'). To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic collocations and ensuring that your terminology accurately reflects the data provided in the charts.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the former line graph,' 'half number of hours') and prepositions ('among to the other'). Some sentences are fragmented or lack necessary verbs, such as 'It noticeable fall in 2019,' which should be 'There was a noticeable fall.' While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the data, they are frequent enough to limit the score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and article usage will significantly improve your accuracy.
