Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the score. Because the response is only 71 words, it is severely underdeveloped. While you have identified some trends, such as the increase in vacuum cleaner ownership, the analysis is incomplete and lacks the necessary detail to fully address the task. You have not provided a comprehensive summary of the data, and the information regarding the washing machine is factually inaccurate based on typical trends for this type of data. To improve, you must ensure you cover all data points and write a full report that meets the length requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The response lacks a clear structure. There is no logical paragraphing, and the use of cohesive devices is very limited. The transition between sentences is abrupt, and the overall flow is disjointed. While there is a basic attempt at an 'overall' summary, the lack of a clear introduction and body paragraphs makes the response difficult to follow. To improve, you should organize your report into clear paragraphs: an introduction, an overview of the main trends, and specific details comparing the data points. Using linking words like 'whereas', 'in contrast', and 'subsequently' will help improve the flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.5

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'increased' and 'decline'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'illustrate about' (which is grammatically incorrect) and 'fluctuated little bit'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands. To improve, try to use a wider variety of verbs and adverbs to describe trends, such as 'soared', 'plummeted', 'gradual increase', or 'sharp decline'. Focus on using precise terminology related to data description.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that impede clarity. Examples include 'The line graph illustrate' (subject-verb agreement error), 'between period of 1920 to 2019' (missing articles and incorrect preposition usage), and 'vacuum cleaner is dramatically increased' (incorrect passive voice construction). The sentence structures are very simple and lack the complexity needed for higher bands. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct subject-verb agreement, proper use of articles, and accurate tense usage before attempting more complex structures.
