The charts depict the percentage of households with electrical appliances, and the number of hours spend doing household per week over 1920 and 2019.
Overall, it can be seen that the usage of electrical appliances was rose over the time period. However, the number of hours was declined dramatically.

In addition, the usage of a vacuum cleaner and washing machine were 30% and 40% respectively in the beginning year. Then, both are rose around 70% in 1960 after that vacuum cleaner climbed to 100% in 2019. Moreover, washing machine decreased at 62% and then reach around 71% in end of the period.
However, the number of hours of housework per week was 50 hours in 1920 then it felled up to10 hours in the 2019.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response covers the main features of the charts, including the trends for appliance ownership and the decline in housework hours. However, the analysis is somewhat mechanical and lacks a clear overview of the relationship between the two datasets. While the key figures are mentioned, the reporting is occasionally inaccurate, such as stating the refrigerator usage was 'not used' in 1920 when the chart shows a specific percentage. The response would benefit from a more analytical approach that synthesizes the data rather than simply listing figures chronologically.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The response is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat repetitive and mechanical (e.g., 'To begin with', 'In addition', 'Moreover'). The progression of ideas is logical, but the transition between the appliance data and the housework data is abrupt. Referencing is generally clear, but the overall flow could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect the trends more fluidly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and incorrect word choices, such as 'usage was rose' instead of 'usage rose' and 'felled up to' instead of 'fell to'. The range is limited to basic descriptors, and the student struggles with collocations related to data reporting. To reach a higher band, the student should incorporate more precise verbs and nouns related to trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'plateaued', or 'a significant decline'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include incorrect verb tenses and passive voice construction (e.g., 'both are rose', 'washing machine decreased at 62%'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are errors in sentence structure that make some parts difficult to read. The student needs to focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions when describing statistical changes.
