Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is significantly under the 150-word minimum requirement, which severely impacts the ability to fully address the task. Because the essay is incomplete and cuts off mid-sentence, it fails to report on all the main features or provide a comprehensive comparison of the data. The overview provided is too brief to capture the trends effectively, and the lack of completion means the task is only partially addressed. To improve, you must ensure you provide a full summary of all data points and complete your analysis within the word count constraints.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is structured with an introduction and an overview, which is a good start. However, the abrupt ending prevents the development of a logical progression of ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'In addition' and 'meanwhile' are used, but their effectiveness is limited because the text is incomplete. The paragraphing is appropriate for the length provided, but the lack of a full body paragraph structure makes it difficult to assess your ability to organize information coherently over a full-length response.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'variations', 'proportion', and 'fluctuations'. However, there are some inaccuracies, such as 'households holding electronic devices' (better: 'households owning electrical appliances') and 'amount of daily tasks' (better: 'time spent on household tasks'). The vocabulary is sufficient to convey basic meaning, but the limited length restricts your ability to showcase a wider or more sophisticated range of lexical items.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are several grammatical errors in the text. For example, 'The line charts illustrates' contains a subject-verb agreement error (should be 'illustrate'). 'The proportion of households used' is also grammatically incorrect; it should be 'the proportion of households using'. While you attempt to use complex sentence structures, the errors are frequent enough to be noticeable. The incomplete nature of the sentences at the end of the response makes it impossible to evaluate your control over more complex grammatical structures.
