Student answer (Band 4.0)
The chart shows the changes in ownership of elactronic appliances and amount of time consuming doing housework in households in our country between 1920 and2019.
overall it can be notice that in 1920 there is a lot of incresement duration of households work because in 1920 there are less electronic items like eg, washing machine ,refrigerator and vacuum cleaner etc, So they would do works wiyh there hands, there will be long time to do there household worke in 1920.
In another graph it can be seen that the houres are decresing the consuming time in 2019, because there are some opportunities of electerical equpments like eg, washing clothes , prepering meals and cleaning etc. So in 2019 they are so many less houseworks duration of time in per households workes between 1920 and 2019.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5
The response fails to reach the minimum word count of 150 words, standing at only 135 words, which impacts task completion. While the student attempts to describe the charts, the coverage of data is superficial and lacks precise numerical reporting or a well-developed overview. For instance, the writer mentions appliances in a general way ("washing machine, refrigerator and vacuum cleaner") but fails to accurately report the specific percentages or the overarching trends across the 1920-2019 period. The comparison between the rising appliance ownership and the falling housework hours is stated very simplistically. To achieve a higher band, the writer must write at least 150 words, select more key data points, and synthesize the information more effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The text lacks proper paragraphing, being presented as a single block or poorly separated fragments with basic opening phrases like "overall it can be notice" and "In another graph". The progression of ideas is very repetitive, constantly circling back to the idea that housework took a long time in 1920 and less time in 2019 without a logical flow of information. Cohesive devices are extremely limited and basic, primarily relying on repetition rather than pronouns or effective conjunctions. To improve, the student should structure the essay into clear paragraphs—an introduction/overview followed by body paragraphs—and use a wider range of cohesive ties to link ideas smoothly.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The lexical range is very basic and repetitive, with frequent spelling mistakes ("elactronic", "incresement", "wiyh", "worke", "houres", "decresing", "electerical", "equpments", "prepering"). Word choices are often unnatural or inaccurate, such as "time consuming doing housework" instead of "time spent on housework" and "less houseworks duration of time". There is a heavy reliance on repeating the same vocabulary items ("1920", "housework", "time") throughout the response. The vocabulary used is just about adequate to convey the general topic, but persistent errors in spelling and word formation significantly constrain the score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The grammatical range is extremely limited, consisting mostly of simple and heavily flawed complex structures. There are numerous basic grammatical errors throughout the text, such as tense usage and preposition errors ("there is a lot of incresement duration", "do works wiyh there hands", "there will be long time"). Run-on sentences and comma splices are also present, for example: "...refrigerator and vacuum cleaner etc, So they would do works...". Punctuation is weak, with capitalization issues at the start of sentences like "overall". The frequency of errors makes the text difficult to read at times, though the general meaning of past versus present can still be partially understood.
