The charts below show the changes in ownership of electrical appliances and amount of time spent doing housework in households in one country between 1920 and 2019.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The line graphs demonstrate the proportion of households with electrical appliances namely washing machine, refrigerator and vacuum cleaner and the number of hours spent doing housework activities which are washing clothes, making meals and cleaning in one country from1920 to 2019.

From the first graph, it is clear that there were no use of refrigerator in 1920. Between 1920 and 1980, the percentage of refrigerator ownership increased rapidly to 100%. By 2019, the figures remained unchanged.

For washing machine, 40% of household owned washing machine in 1920 and the percentage rise by the time to just over the 70% in 2019. As to vacuum cleaner, It owned by 30% in 1920 and the figures of this household grew significantly to 100% in 2000. In 2019, there was no change in the household.

In 1920, nearly 50 hours spent on housework per week per household and the number of hours fell gradually by the time to 10 hours per week in 2019.

To sum up, it would be quite interesting to note that all the ownership of electrical appliances surged significantly at the end of the period. However, the number of hours spent per week on household work dropped steadily in the same time.
