Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is severely under-length, reaching only 86 words against the required 150-word minimum. Because of this, it is truncated and cuts off mid-sentence, preventing the student from developing a full overview or covering all the data trends in the charts (such as the housework hours). While the opening attempts to report initial figures for washing machines, the severe lack of development and incomplete nature of the response limits Task Achievement to a band 4.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The text begins with a standard introductory sentence, and attempts some logical sequencing with phrases like 'The line graph below show that' and 'after this it grew'. However, because the text stops abruptly mid-sentence ('peaked dramatically to100% in'), the overall structure is incomplete and lacks a proper conclusion or full paragraph development. Cohesive devices are basic and mechanical. Coherence and cohesion are rated at band 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student attempts some task-specific vocabulary such as 'ownership', 'electrical appliances', 'gradually', and 'dramatically'. However, there are noticeable spelling errors ('ownershif', 'householdsin') and lexical inaccuracies, such as confusing refrigerator data with washing machine data ('The second highest in this graph is refrigerator which had 30%'). The range of vocabulary is limited and minimally adequate. This falls under band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The student attempts some complex structures, such as relative clauses ('which is 40 percent' and 'which had 30% which peaked'). However, these structures contain errors and awkward phrasing. There are also subject-verb agreement errors ('The line graph... show that'). Because the text is incomplete and contains frequent minor errors that strain readability, a band 5.0 is appropriate.
