The charts below show the changes in ownership of electrical appliances and amount of time spent doing housework in households in one country between 1920 and 2019.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Percentage of households with electrical appliances (1920-2019)

The first line diagram illustrates the percentage of households in a country owning various electronic appliances, namely washing machine, refrigerator and vacuum cleaner, from 1920 to 2019. The second line diagram shows the trend of hours invested into housework per household, during the mentioned years.

Overall, refrigerators had the most rise in ownership throughout the years, and almost all the houses own a refrigerator since 1980. A flatter but still significantly upward trend could be observed in case of vacuum cleaners, making its place to all the homes from the year 2000 till date. However, washing machines witnessed a much flatter curve in comparison to its counterparts. As the ownership of electrical appliances rose, people invested lesser hours into household chores over the years.

To begin with, the popularity of refrigerators increased the fastest, as it is owned by every household from the year 1980. A signficant rise from almost 0% ownership in 1920.
