Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum length requirement of 150 words, stopping abruptly at only 113 words. Furthermore, the text trails off mid-sentence at the end. While the student attempts to present an overview and mention some main trends, the severe under-length prevents a fully developed response. Key features are partially addressed, noting the rise in appliance ownership and the decline in housework hours, but the incomplete nature of the text restricts the overall task achievement. According to the descriptors, falling significantly short of the word count limit caps the score heavily.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response attempts a basic structure, including an introductory paraphrase and an overview sentence ('Overall, the amount of electrical appliances went straight on rising...'). However, due to the very short and incomplete text, logical progression is disrupted. Paragraphing is attempted, but the final body paragraph is cut off prematurely after only a few fragmented sentences ('Firstly three applicances are taken under considration...'). Cohesive devices are minimal and sometimes awkward ('On the other side', 'Firstly three applicances'). Because the writing stops abruptly, a coherent overall arrangement cannot be fully established.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is very basic and contains frequent word choice and spelling errors. Examples include 'shift in owning of electrical modalities' instead of 'shifts in the ownership of electrical appliances', 'homecourses' instead of 'housework', and 'applicances' instead of 'appliances'. Phrases like 'projected in upword direction' demonstrate awkward collocation and non-standard phrasing. While the writer attempts some topic-specific vocabulary, the high frequency of lexical inaccuracies and the incomplete nature of the response constrain the lexical score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The text demonstrates a limited range of grammatical structures. Simple sentences dominate, and attempts at complex structures contain noticeable errors, such as 'as per there percentage' (their) and 'there hours of functioning' (their). Punctuation and word forms are inconsistently controlled. Because the response is very short and unfinished, it is difficult to evaluate a sustained command of complex syntax. Frequent basic errors in grammar and spelling impede smooth readability.
