Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum length requirement of 150 words, containing only 129 words, which significantly restricts task completion. Furthermore, the selection and reporting of main features are flawed. The charts show appliance ownership percentages and weekly hours of housework from 1920 to 2019, but the student's interpretation is frequently confused and inaccurate. For instance, the student claims that 'the use of refrigerator looks significantly with vacume cleaner' and introduces irrelevant concepts such as 'inverter' and 'consumptive equipments of light' which are not present in the source data. While a basic overview is attempted, the key trends—such as the massive rise in appliance ownership alongside a steep decline in weekly housework hours—are poorly developed and obscured by imprecise and unclear language. This performance aligns best with Band 4.0 descriptors.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The essay is divided into short paragraphs, but overall organization and logical progression are weak. The introduction is poorly phrased ('The both charts compares...'), and the connection between sentences is frequently disjointed. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or inaccurately, such as the abrupt transition using 'But' to start the final paragraph. Referencing is unclear throughout, making it difficult to follow the relationships between the data points being discussed. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks clear topic sentences and logical development. Overall, the arrangement of ideas is erratic and impedes clear communication, placing it squarely at Band 4.0.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is very basic, repetitive, and often inaccurate. The student frequently misuses terms or invents vocabulary not supported by the charts, such as 'time durantion', 'equipiments', 'househokd', 'refrogerators', and 'consumptive equipments of light'. Word choices are frequently unnatural or incorrect, such as 'the use of refrogerators was going to up' and 'houseworks... went to declined'. There is a clear lack of precise lexical items related to data reporting (such as verbs and adverbs of trend). These lexical limitations and errors often strain the reader's understanding, satisfying the criteria for Band 4.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

The grammatical range is extremely limited, relying mostly on simple or faulty sentence structures. There are persistent and frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('The both charts compares', 'appliance... are used', 'houseworks... not taken'), incorrect prepositions ('in different houses', 'for housework'), and awkward verb tenses ('looks significantly', 'seemed used at moderate level'). Punctuation and article usage are also problematic. Because errors occur constantly and frequently distort meaning or cause serious difficulty for the reader, the response earns a Band 4.0 for grammar.
