Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, stopping abruptly at only 104 words. Consequently, the task is addressed only partially, as the writer provides a very limited overview and mentions only a few data points without fully reporting the main features or making meaningful comparisons between the appliances and the hours of housework. While the introduction attempts to outline the line graphs, the body paragraph trails off after naming the appliances, resulting in under-developed ideas and an incomplete response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is some basic organisation attempted, with an introductory sentence and an overall statement introduced by cohesive markers such as 'Overall'. However, the overall progression breaks down quickly due to the extremely short length and the abrupt ending of the second paragraph. Paragraphing is poorly handled, as the second paragraph consists of just a single incomplete sentence. Referencing and cohesive devices are inadequate to guide the reader smoothly through the data, reflecting a disjointed structure that lacks a clear concluding or analytical flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task, with noticeable spelling and word choice errors that detract from the writing. Examples of spelling errors include 'perfoming', 'rafrigerator', 'signifiocant', 'dicline', and 'mahine'. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary such as 'ownership' and 'percentage', but frequent spelling slips and repetitive phrasing restrict the lexical range and prevent the response from achieving a higher level of precision and style.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response displays a very limited range of grammatical structures. While there are a few simple sentences that are mostly understandable, attempts at longer or more complex clauses contain frequent errors in punctuation, capitalization, and phrasing (e.g., lowercase letters at the start of sentences like 'while the other graph', and awkward prepositional usage). Errors persist throughout the short text, though they rarely obscure meaning entirely, fitting the profile of frequent errors that mark this level.
