Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word length requirement of 150 words, stopping at only 119 words. Furthermore, the content fails to fully address all parts of the task. While the introduction attempts to outline the scope of the line graph, the reporting of main features is severely limited and contains numerous factual errors and contradictions. For example, the student writes that the refrigerator 'showed rose up to 0' in 1920 and then confuses data points across categories. The overview of trends is underdeveloped, and key features such as the drop in housework hours are entirely omitted, leaving the task only partially and minimally addressed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The organization of the response is disjointed, lacking a clear overall progression. Ideas are presented in isolated, disconnected sentences rather than forming a coherent overview and detailed body paragraphs. Paragraphing is poorly handled, with single sentences acting as separate paragraphs. While some basic cohesive devices like 'In contrast' are attempted, referencing and logical linking between sentences are faulty and mechanical, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of information across the text.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and repetitive, with noticeable errors that cause difficulty for the reader. There are several spelling and word-form errors, such as 'ownershio', 'slowely', and 'percentage', alongside awkward word choices like 'Percentage home device' and 'uniformly surge'. The range of vocabulary is barely adequate to communicate the basic topic of the charts, and attempts at describing trends rely heavily on repetitive, inaccurate lexical phrases that strain comprehension.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammatical range is extremely limited, consisting mostly of simple and heavily flawed sentence structures. There are frequent errors in verb forms, tense usage, and prepositions, such as 'appliances of vacuum cleaner was increased', 'the refrigerator showed rose up', and 'frpm 1980 to 2019'. Punctuation and sentence boundaries are also handled poorly, with missing capitalisation and comma splices. These frequent errors disrupt the flow and occasionally distort the intended meaning of the sentences.
