Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response falls slightly short of the minimum word count requirement, coming in at 149 words (with 8 words copied from the prompt excluded). The student attempts to address the task by mentioning both charts, but the coverage is minimal and tangential in places. While some key features are noted, such as the overall rise in appliance ownership and the decline in housework hours, the data is frequently imprecise or difficult to follow. Sentences like "Refrigerator are invented in 19120" show a misunderstanding of the visual data. The response lacks a clear overview and fails to make relevant comparisons effectively, limiting the development of ideas to a very basic level.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The organization of the response is disjointed, and information is not arranged coherently. Although the student attempts to separate paragraphs by topic, the lack of a proper overarching structure prevents any clear progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are either missing or misused, resulting in abrupt transitions between sentences and ideas, such as moving abruptly from the washing machine to refrigerators without logical connectors. Referencing is also weak, making it difficult to follow which data points are being contrasted. Paragraphing is attempted, but it is insufficient to guide the reader through the data logically.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic, repetitive, and severely limited for an academic task. Words and phrases such as "increased continously" and "percent using of washing machine" demonstrate a lack of lexical control. There are numerous word choice and word formation errors, such as "invented" instead of "introduced" or "acquired", and typographical slips like "19120". These lexical inaccuracies and repetitive phrasing strain the reader and impede clear communication throughout the response.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammatical range is very limited, relying heavily on simple structures with frequent errors in basic sentence construction. There is a lack of control over verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions, as seen in "percentage of washing household decrease" and "using of vacuum cleaner increased continously". Punctuation is also problematic, and frequent errors in basic grammar distort meaning and cause significant difficulty for the reader. Complex structures are largely absent, and the few attempts at variation result in faulty phrasing.
