Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by reporting the main trends and making relevant comparisons across the given time period. An overview is present, highlighting the contrasting trajectories of appliance ownership and housework hours. However, some parts of the task are developed more fully than others, and certain details are slightly imprecise or under-developed. For instance, the discussion of the washing machine's fluctuations and final percentage lacks complete clarity in relating back to the visual data. To reach a higher band, the response would need to consistently maintain fully developed ideas with precise support across all visual elements without mechanical data reporting.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response exhibits a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the information logically into an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs focusing on appliances and housework hours respectively. Progression is generally maintained throughout the text. However, cohesion at times feels mechanical or faulty, with awkward transitional phrases such as 'To begin with, for proportion of households' and 'Furthermore, for numbers of hours of housework gradual decreased.' Referencing and referencing devices are occasionally unclear. To move up, the writer needs to employ cohesive devices more naturally and smoothly without relying on rigid, formulaic connectors.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, successfully communicating the general trends in ownership and time spent. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary items such as 'proportion', 'fluctuated', and 'gradually', but there are noticeable inaccuracies in word choice, form, and collocation, such as 'changes in owning of electrical devices', 'spend time for doing', and 'highest hours of used'. Spelling and word-choice errors occur, but they do not impede communication. For a higher level, a wider and more precise range of lexical items with accurate control of word formation and collocations is required.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting relative clauses and comparative structures. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation throughout the text, including missing articles ('for proportion of households'), incorrect verb tenses and forms ('while another line graph illustrate', 'refrigerator are almost at 0%', 'figure for refrigerator and vacuum cleaner are nearly same'), and preposition issues. While communication is not severely blocked, these frequent errors place the grammatical control securely in the current band. To achieve a higher score, the writer must produce a greater proportion of error-free sentences and demonstrate tighter control over subject-verb agreement and article usage.
