Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response attempts to address the task by mentioning the two charts, but it only does so minimally and with severe inaccuracies. The data reported fails to accurately reflect the visual information, such as stating that refrigerator ownership started at zero when the graph shows 2 percent, and misinterpreting trends entirely. While an overview is attempted, it is confused and inaccurate, resulting in a response that lacks proper selection and reporting of main features and meaningful comparisons. The writing is largely disconnected from the actual visual data provided in the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The organisation of the response shows basic paragraphing attempts, but the overall progression of information is difficult to follow. Cohesive devices are used very poorly, with abrupt transitions and disjointed sentences like 'After rose that 1960 at 70 portion. After fell. and in 2019 at olny 73 percentage.' Referencing and linking between sentences are faulty and mechanical, meaning the reader struggles to see a logical flow or clear relationships between the ideas and data points presented.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive, frequently relying on terms like 'percentage', 'house', and 'use'. There are numerous spelling errors ('illustartes', 'deviceand', 'therafor', 'olny', 'stadly') and severe word choice errors where incorrect terms are selected, such as 'number of time finished doing housework' or 'full of used'. These lexical inaccuracies and basic limitations frequently strain the reader's understanding and impede smooth communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammatical range is extremely limited, consisting mainly of fragmented or poorly constructed simple sentences. There is a frequent lack of basic sentence elements, missing verbs, and incorrect verb tenses or forms (e.g., 'all work can increase from starting', 'Use refrigerator had zero percentage'). Errors in prepositions and articles are pervasive throughout the text. These frequent errors distort meaning and make many sentences grammatically incorrect and difficult to parse.
