Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

The response attempts to address the task by mentioning some elements from the line graphs, such as the refrigerator and washing machine trends, but it struggles to present a coherent overview. There are severe inaccuracies in reporting the data; for instance, the student states that the percentage of vacuum cleaners reaches 100 percent while washing machines are around 70 percent, yet later provides contradictory or confusing statements about appliance ownership levels and completely omits the data for hours of housework per week. Because the reporting of main features is inaccurate, confused, and incomplete, the response only partially covers the prompt, remaining at a lower level of achievement.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The text is organized into short paragraph blocks, but the overall progression of ideas is difficult to follow. There is a lack of logical sequencing, and transitions between sentences are weak or disjointed. Cohesive devices are minimal and sometimes misused, such as 'at 1920' and 'on the rest of the years', which makes the temporal progression awkward. Additionally, referencing is frequently unclear, leaving the reader confused about which appliance or year is being discussed. While the text attempts to structure information, the mechanical and faulty connections hinder smooth reading.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive, frequently reusing words like 'percentage', 'households', 'appliance', and 'washing machine'. There are noticeable word choice and collocation errors throughout the text, such as writing 'electrical appliance' instead of 'electrical appliances', using 'figure recorded the Washing machine approximately fluctuated', and writing 'highest percentafe' with a typo. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey the basic topic, the limited range and frequent lexical inaccuracies restrict the precision needed for a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response displays a very limited range of sentence structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent structural errors. There are persistent mistakes in prepositions and articles, such as 'in after 1960' and 'at 1920', as well as subject-verb agreement issues like 'the percentage of vacuum cleaner are'. Complex sentence attempts are faulty and awkward, such as 'while the figure recorded the Washing machine approximately fluctuated about 40 to 70 percents'. Frequent errors in punctuation and grammar cause some difficulty for the reader throughout the text.
