Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You cover both charts and identify the broad contrast between rising appliance ownership and falling housework time. The overview, however, is incomplete: it notes the high ownership of refrigerators and vacuum cleaners in 2019, but does not clearly summarise the overall appliance trends or the substantial decline in housework hours. Several details are inaccurate or unclear. Washing-machine ownership was about 65% in 1980, not “nearby 60%,” and rose to 75% by 2019; the refrigerator reached about 90% in 1960 and 100% in 1980, then stayed level. The phrase “from 1080” also obscures the period being described. Include the key turning points and compare the series more precisely to make the report more complete and well supported.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and paragraphs describing the appliance figures and housework hours. This gives the reader a coherent overall arrangement. Sequencing within the appliance paragraph is generally chronological, and transitions such as “In stark contrast” and “Moving to the rest of the information” help signal shifts. However, some linking is mechanical or imprecise, and the overview does not prepare the reader for the detailed comparisons that follow. The final paragraph is very brief and gives little detail about the steady decline and periods when housework hours levelled off. Use clearer references to the years and group related trends more deliberately so that progression is smoother.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant chart vocabulary, including “increased,” “constant,” “peak level,” and “approximately,” and the reader can usually understand the intended trends. However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate, which makes parts of the report awkward or unclear. For example, “usage three electronic devices,” “refrigerator consumption ratio,” and “hours work done by houseworker” are not natural ways to describe household ownership and housework time. “Upsurge sharply” is also an unsuitable form in this sentence, while “lease number” appears to mean “least number.” Aim for precise, conventional expressions such as “the proportion of households owning” and “hours spent on housework.” Check spelling and word forms, including “vacuum cleaner” and “housework.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrastive opening with “While” and time clauses such as “After two decades.” However, control is limited, and frequent errors in verb forms, agreement, and sentence construction sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “people were used washing machine,” “it was went up,” “the figure was rose up,” and “remain constant,” where the verb forms do not fit the sentence. The opening “While” clause is also left without a complete main clause. Practise forming accurate past-tense descriptions, for example, “ownership rose” or “the figure increased,” and check that each sentence has a complete, correctly structured clause.
