Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the broad pattern that appliance ownership generally rose while housework time fell, and you include figures for several years. However, the overview is unclear and partly inaccurate: “the percentage of refrigerator was increase coninously” does not describe the trend grammatically, and the washing-machine figure actually dips from about 70% in 1960 to 65% in 1980 before rising. Some details are also misreported: refrigerators reached 100% by 1980 and remained there, while vacuum-cleaner ownership reached 100% by 2000, not 2019. The housework figure falls to about 11 hours in 2019, which you report approximately correctly. To make the report more complete, give a clear overview and compare the main trends accurately rather than listing figures with unclear relationships.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a basic structure, with an opening, an overview, and a paragraph of details, and it generally moves through the years in chronological order. This gives the reader some sense of progression. However, connections between points are often unclear or mechanical: “Followed by” and “Regarding” do not link the data naturally, and the long final paragraph strings many years together without clear sentence boundaries. The overview also combines several trends in a way that is difficult to follow. Use separate paragraphs for the main appliance trends and housework hours, and organise comparisons by trend or period. Clear linking phrases such as “By contrast” and “Meanwhile” would help show how the series relate.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “percentage,” “decline,” “increase,” and “reached,” so the reader can recognise that you are describing a line graph. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the meaning difficult to interpret, such as “the percentage of refrigerator,” “was lastly above from 50,” and “the refrigerator was end in 2000.” Spelling errors, including “coninously,” “waching,” and “refrigrator,” also reduce clarity. Aim for accurate graph language and consistent equipment names: for example, “the proportion of households with a refrigerator” and “rose to 90%.” Proofreading spelling and avoiding repeated use of “number” would make the report more precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to use both simple statements and longer comparisons, and the chronological sequence is mostly understandable. However, sentence structures are limited, and errors in verb forms, articles, agreement, and sentence construction occur frequently enough to make some details hard to follow. Examples include “the percentage of refrigerator was increase,” “the washing machine show deline,” and “the number of per week was on 50.” Several clauses are joined without clear punctuation, particularly in the long sequence beginning “In 1980.” Practise accurate past-tense reporting (“rose,” “fell,” “stood at”) and build complete sentences with a clear subject and verb. Shorter, correctly punctuated comparisons would improve control.
