Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the broad topic and include an overview that appliances generally became more common while housework time fell. However, the overview is unclear and partly inaccurate: the refrigerator and vacuum cleaner reached their highest levels by 2000, not only in 2019, and the washing-machine trend did not simply remain unchanged. Several figures are misreported or omitted. For example, the refrigerator was about 2% in 1920, rather than declining, and the vacuum cleaner rose to about 90% in 1980, not 8%. The housework series is described vaguely and is incorrectly called a percentage. To improve, select the main trends accurately, compare the series, and report key start and end values with clear units.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic paragraph structure, with an introduction, an overview and separate discussion of appliance trends and housework. This gives the reader some organisation. However, progression within paragraphs is difficult to follow because ideas are joined with connectors that do not show the intended relationship, such as “Moreover,” “In addition,” and “Wheares.” Some transitions are also contradictory: the vacuum-cleaner account says the figure “grew up” and then “declined at 8%,” without making the sequence clear. Repeated references to “the percentage” make the account feel repetitive, and the final sentence does not clearly connect the housework trend to the appliance data. Group related trends and use simpler, more accurate linking.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “ownership,” “percentage,” “gradually increased,” and “significantly rose,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate enough to make parts difficult to interpret. Examples include “touch their peak,” “grew up,” “fluctuated at 1980,” and “the value was remained same.” There are also spelling errors such as “Fiirstly,” “Wheares,” and “clearner.” Use precise trend language and avoid repeating “percentage” when “share” or “proportion” would fit. Check spelling and learn common chart collocations, such as “reached a peak,” “fell to,” and “remained stable.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to combine information using clauses and time references, but sentence structures are often faulty, and errors frequently make relationships between figures unclear. For example, “washing machine percentage of households 40% in 1920” lacks a complete verb structure, while “the percentage … is fluctuated” uses an incorrect verb form. Tense and agreement are inconsistent in phrases such as “In 2000 and 2019 is percentage was remained same.” Articles and sentence boundaries are also unreliable, as in “Overall, In electrical appliances…” and “while the value was fluctuate.” Practise building complete past-tense sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check each clause for agreement and punctuation. Simpler accurate sentences would improve clarity before you attempt more complex comparisons.
