Student answer (Band 5.0)
The line chart compares data regarding the ownership variations of electrical appliances and time consumption in compeletion of houseworks in households in a country from 1920 and 2019.
In 1920, none of the people owned refrigerator which grew rapidly to 50% of households. Further, it exhibited a consistent development till 1980 crossing both washing machine and vaccum cleaner in 1940 remained plateaued from 1980 to following 39 years. A similar trend was followed by vaccum cleaner which began with only 30% of household developed sharply over next 60 years. Then it remained constant along with refrigerator for nearly two decades. On the contrary, this pattern was continued in the case of washing machine till 1970 intersected with vaccum cleaner with 70% of household. Surprisingly it declined to approximately 30%. It was seen that then this pattern exhibited some flutuaction and reached nearly 70% in 2019.
However, the number of working hours of the households declined considerably. Initially the working hours of appliances were 50 hours which dropped to only 10 hours after 99 years.
To sum up, both vaccum cleaner and refrigerator were owned by majority of people. Whereas ownership of washing maching was the least On the other hand, the working hours per week fell over te period.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the broad trends: appliance ownership generally increased, while weekly housework time fell. However, several key details are inaccurate or unclear, which limits how fully the charts are reported. Refrigerators were not at zero in 1920 (about 2%), and their ownership reached roughly 55% by 1940, 90% by 1960 and 100% by 1980. The washing-machine figure did not fall to 30%: it dipped from about 70% in 1960 to 65% in 1980, then rose. Housework declined from 50 to about 11 hours, rather than 10 exactly. The overview also says washing machines were least owned, although they were not consistently the least-owned appliance. Report the main comparisons accurately and avoid unsupported claims such as a decline to 30%.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable opening, a body describing appliance trends, a separate paragraph on housework, and a concluding summary. This gives it some organisation. However, the progression within the appliance paragraph is difficult to follow: several trends are joined in long sentences, and phrases such as “Further,” “A similar trend,” and “this pattern” do not always make clear which appliance or movement is being discussed. The conclusion repeats broad points without resolving the earlier confusion. Grouping the three appliance series in a clearer order, then describing housework separately, would improve progression. Use explicit references such as “Refrigerator ownership” rather than relying on “it” or “this pattern.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of vocabulary, including “declined considerably,” “remained constant,” and “exhibited,” and the reader can generally identify the topic. However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural for describing charts, including “time consumption in compeletion of houseworks,” “consistent development,” and “working hours of appliances.” Some spelling errors—“vaccum,” “flutuaction,” and “mach ing”—also reduce precision. The repeated use of “pattern” and “developed” makes the descriptions less specific. Prefer standard chart language such as “the proportion of households owning,” “rose,” “fell,” and “levelled off,” and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt longer sentences and some subordinate structures, but many are difficult to control, so the relationships between ideas are not always clear. For example, “A similar trend was followed by vaccum cleaner which began with only 30% of household developed sharply” lacks a clear grammatical connection between the clauses. In “this pattern … till 1970 intersected,” the subject and verb structure is also unclear. There are recurring problems with articles, plurals and sentence boundaries, as in “30% of household” and the run-on conclusion beginning “Whereas ownership…”. Use shorter, complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and punctuation. This would make your comparisons easier to understand.
