Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the broad trends: appliance ownership generally rose, while time spent on housework fell. You also note that refrigerators reached 100% and vacuum cleaners reached full ownership by 2000. However, the response covers the data only partially and contains important inaccuracies: washing-machine ownership was 40% in 1920, not 1960, and housework fell to about 11 hours in 2019, not “10 percent” (the chart measures hours). The overview is present but limited, and several key comparisons are missing, including the refrigerator’s rapid early rise and the washing machine’s slight dip around 1980. The response is also 35 words below the required minimum, leaving the trends underdeveloped. Add accurate figures and comparisons to complete the summary.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic overall shape: an opening, an overview, and further details about housework and washing machines. “Overall” and “On the other hand” signal relationships between ideas, so the reader can follow the main direction. However, the progression is not consistently clear: the final sentence returns to appliance data after the housework point, and “The percentage of household the last one” makes the intended reference difficult to identify. The short response also groups several trends into dense sentences rather than presenting the appliance and housework information in a clear sequence. Use separate, logically ordered paragraphs and connect each comparison explicitly to its subject.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “ownership,” “percentage,” “declined,” and “surged,” which helps communicate the general trends. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate enough to make parts of the report unclear. “Housework brought differs” does not express the intended comparison, “were get see high rise” is not a natural phrase, and “10 percent per week” confuses a unit with a percentage. There are also spelling errors in “vacum” and inconsistent forms such as “house work.” Aim for precise chart language: describe ownership as a percentage of households and housework as hours per week, using verbs such as “rose,” “fell,” and “remained stable” accurately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a few longer sentence forms, such as “On the other hand house work per week was the highest in 1920 which dramatically declined…,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in agreement and verb forms appear in “The given charts illustrates” and “were get see high rise.” The opening phrase “among 1920 and 2019” also shows an incorrect preposition pattern, while “the refrigerator percentage of household was 100% in year of 2019” has problems with articles and sentence structure. These errors sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Build accuracy first with clear subject–verb sentences, then combine related facts using clauses such as “while” or “whereas.” Check agreement, tense, articles, and punctuation when editing.
