Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You cover both charts and give a relevant overview: appliance ownership generally rose, while weekly housework fell. Several key figures are reported accurately, including washing machines at about 40% initially and 75% in 2019, and housework declining from 50 to around 10 hours. However, some central comparisons are unclear or inaccurate. In 1940, the refrigerator figure was about 55%, not 90%, and the figures for washing machines and vacuum cleaners were about 60% and 50%, rather than both around 70%. The refrigerator reached 90% in 1960. You also omit the housework values for the middle years, including its plateau at about 15 hours from 1980 to 2000. More precise reporting of these stages would make the account more complete and clear.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph on appliance ownership and a final paragraph on housework. This gives the reader a coherent overall arrangement, and time markers such as “In 1920,” “after 2 decades” and “at the end” help signal sequence. However, the appliance paragraph moves through several years in long, crowded sentences, making comparisons difficult to follow. Some links are also mechanical or unclear, particularly “Then after a deceds” and “Then At the end year.” Grouping the appliance trends more clearly—for example, describing the refrigerator and vacuum cleaner together, then noting the washing-machine fluctuation—would improve progression. Use consistent, accurate time references and clearer sentence boundaries.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “ownership,” “proportion,” “declined” and “per week,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range and control are limited by repeated or inaccurate expressions such as “owing” for ownership, “working in house” for housework, and “rates fall down.” There are also many spelling errors, including “vocuum,” “flactuetion,” “refrigaretor” and “slightly” misspelled as “slighty.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause, and several phrases do not sound natural in an academic report. Aim for precise chart language and check spelling carefully; use verbs such as “rose,” “fell” and “remained stable” rather than repeatedly using “increased” or “rates.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast with “however” and a relative clause in “house work including washing clothes, preparing meals, cleaning.” The overall meaning can usually be recovered, but some sentence structures are faulty or incomplete. For example, “among 1920 to 2019” uses an incorrect preposition pattern, while “Then after a deceds owing refrigerator and vacuum cleaner increased…” lacks a clear grammatical structure. Articles, plurals and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “at the end year 2019” and the spacing around commas and full stops. Build shorter, complete sentences first, then add comparisons using accurate clauses. Check verb forms and sentence boundaries so that each trend has a clear subject and verb.
