Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the main overall contrast: appliance ownership generally rose while weekly housework declined, and you note the low point for housework in 2019. Several figures are also broadly accurate, including washing-machine ownership at 40% in 1920 and about 70% in 1960, and refrigerators reaching 100% by 1980. However, some details are inaccurate or unclear: refrigerators were at about 2%, not zero, in 1920; washing-machine ownership dipped to around 65% in 1980 before rising; and the housework figures are hours, not percentages. The vacuum-cleaner trend is mentioned but not supported with figures, and the 1940 and 2000 housework values are omitted. A clearer, more complete comparison of the series would strengthen the report.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, an overview and separate discussion of appliance ownership and housework. This gives the reader a basic route through the information. However, progression within the body paragraphs is uneven: the vacuum-cleaner sentence gives no figures, and the final housework sentence begins “After this” even though it refers back to 1960, making the sequence difficult to follow. Some linking words, such as “Moreover,” “Furthermore,” and “However,” are used mechanically or do not clearly express the relationship between ideas. Grouping the appliance trends in a consistent chronological order and then describing the housework decline chronologically would make the organisation clearer and cohesion more reliable.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “ownership,” “percentage,” “increased,” and “remained unchanged,” and the reader can generally understand the intended trends. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision: “gragh,” “vaccum,” “gradusaly,” “continously,” and “hosework.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “normal rise” and “ownership … was continously rise.” Use standard chart language and check spelling carefully; precise verbs such as “rose,” “fell,” “peaked,” and “levelled off” would help describe changes more naturally. Also distinguish “hours” from “percentages” when reporting the housework series.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mixture of simple statements and longer sentences, and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, several sentence structures and verb forms are faulty, including “the washing machine had the highest percentage of ownership was recorded 40%” and “ownership of vacuum cleaner was continously rise.” These need a clear subject and a correctly formed verb, for example, “Washing-machine ownership stood at 40%” and “Vacuum-cleaner ownership rose steadily.” There are also agreement and article problems in “all the electrical appliance were increased” and “the highest percentage … were shown.” The housework figures are repeatedly followed by “%,” which is a unit error in the sentence pattern. More accurate simple clauses, alongside carefully controlled complex sentences, would improve clarity.
