Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the broad contrast between rising appliance ownership and falling housework hours, and include several relevant figures, such as refrigerators reaching 100% and housework declining from 50 hours. However, the overview is unclear and partly inaccurate: “the use these appliances declined” contradicts the ownership trends, and the washing-machine trend is described as variable without clearly summarising its overall rise. Some details are also misreported or confusing: refrigerators reached 100% in 1980, not 2000, and the final washing-machine increase is not clearly stated. The response therefore covers the charts only partially. To strengthen it, give a concise, accurate overview of the main trends, then select key comparisons and report the figures consistently.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, an overview and paragraphs describing the appliance data and housework hours. This gives the reader some organisation, and phrases such as “On the other hand” signal contrast. However, progression is weakened by unclear or contradictory links: “Meanwhile the use these appliances declined” does not fit the preceding trend, and “On the other side” introduces the housework data awkwardly. Several ideas are crowded into long sentences, while punctuation and spacing make boundaries difficult to follow. Organise the details into clearer groups—for example, refrigerators and vacuum cleaners together, then washing machines and housework—and use linking expressions only where the relationship is accurate.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “ownership,” “dramatic increase,” “stable,” and “decline,” which helps communicate the broad trends. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling and collocation errors make parts difficult to interpret: “precentage,” “nill,” “vaiable,” and “working with electrical appliance” are examples. “Use” is also repeated where “ownership” or “proportion of households” would be more precise. Some phrases, such as “the use of refrigerator,” are not natural for describing household ownership. Build a more accurate set of chart-description expressions and check spelling and word forms carefully; this would make your comparisons clearer and more appropriate to an academic report.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mixture of simple statements and longer clauses, including comparisons introduced by “while” and “although.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some meanings difficult to follow. For example, “The ownership of refrigerator show” has subject–verb agreement and article problems, while “after it reach 100% ownership” has an incorrect verb form. The sentence beginning “As the ownership of vacuum cleaner…” is also incomplete or incorrectly joined to the next clause. Work on consistent past-tense reporting, agreement, articles and sentence boundaries. Shorter, complete sentences would help you express the data accurately before you attempt more complex comparisons.
