Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You cover both charts and provide a clear overview: appliance ownership generally rose, while weekly housework time fell. Several key comparisons are accurately selected, including refrigerators reaching 100% by 1980, vacuum cleaners reaching full ownership by 2000, and washing machines rising from 40% to about 75%. The housework figures also show the main long-term decline. Some details are less fully reported: the refrigerator starts at about 2%, rather than “almost nil,” and the washing-machine trend includes a dip from 70% in 1960 to 65% in 1980 before rising again. The housework figure of about 10 hours in 2019 is a reasonable approximation of 11. More precise reporting of intermediate changes would make the account more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a sensible overall structure: an introduction, a summary of the main trends, and separate detail about appliance ownership and housework. This makes the information easy to follow, and transitions such as “Overall,” “Furthermore,” and “There was” help signal progression. However, the body is compressed into two long paragraphs, and the appliance comparisons are presented in a sequence that does not always make their relationships explicit. For example, “matching the stats with refrigerator ownership” could state more clearly that vacuum-cleaner ownership reached 100% in 2000, matching the refrigerator figure. Some linking is also repetitive. Grouping the appliance trends together with clearer comparisons, then describing housework separately, would create a more controlled progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for describing trends, including “surge,” “gradual rise,” “ownership,” and “significant drop,” and the meaning is generally recoverable. However, several word choices and collocations are unnatural or imprecise, such as “owning of electrical appliances,” “operated hours,” and “declination in this trend.” “Domestic works” and “matching the stats” are also unsuitable for a formal chart summary. There are noticeable spelling errors, including “washjng” and “hosuehods,” and some repetition of “rise” and “trend.” Use standard chart language such as “the proportion of households owning,” “hours spent on housework,” and “fell steadily.” More accurate collocations and careful proofreading would improve clarity and formality.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of sentence forms, including a complex overview clause and sentences with time phrases, and the main trends remain understandable. However, some grammatical errors recur. The opening sentence has subject–verb disagreement (“The line charts displays”), while “there was almost nil percent of households” has an awkward grammatical construction. In “the operated hours per week for a housework,” the article and noun phrase are not correctly formed. There are also problems with sentence boundaries and spacing, notably “year 2000.Furthermore,” and inconsistent use of articles and plurals. These errors do not usually prevent the reader from understanding the data, but they reduce accuracy. Practise constructing clear comparison sentences and check agreement, articles, and punctuation.
