Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You cover both charts and provide a broad overview, identifying the rise in appliance ownership and the fall in weekly housework. The main comparisons are relevant: vacuum-cleaner ownership rises from 30% to 100%, and washing-machine ownership increases from 40% to 75% (your stated 70% is a little low for 2019). However, the refrigerator figure is inaccurate: it starts at about 2%, not 0%, and the response omits its rapid rise to 100% by 1980. The overview also says refrigerator and vacuum ownership are higher than washing-machine ownership, which is not true at every stage. Housework falls from 50 to 11 hours, rather than 10. More precise reporting of key stages and a clearer overview of the overall patterns would strengthen the response further.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for appliance ownership and housework hours. The sequence is generally easy to follow, and phrases such as “In terms of percentage” help signal a shift in focus. However, some links between ideas are unclear or mechanical. For example, “The number of hours … is shown where how the usage of these electrical appliances are taken place” does not clearly explain the relationship between the two charts. The overview also combines several claims without establishing the most important overall contrast. Use clearer topic sentences and connect comparisons directly—for example, contrast the near-universal ownership of refrigerators and vacuum cleaners with the continuing lower figure for washing machines.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “ownership,” “percentage,” “possession,” and “hours per week,” and the reader can generally understand the trends you describe. There is also some attempt to vary wording, as in “significantly rose” and “substantially grew.” However, several choices are unnatural or imprecise, such as “in particular to refrigerator,” “on the higher side,” and “the trend” for the number of hours. Repetition of “ownership” and “housework” also limits flexibility. Aim for standard chart-reporting collocations and accurate forms, such as “the proportion of households owning…” and “fell steadily.” This would make the description more precise and natural without requiring unnecessarily complex vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and more complex sentences, and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, errors in sentence construction and grammatical forms are noticeable. For example, “in household during the year 1920 and 2019” has problems with articles, number, and the time expression, while “percentage of households … are” has subject–verb disagreement. In “Ownership of Refrigerator has significantly rose,” the verb form is incorrect; use “rose significantly.” Punctuation and spacing are also inconsistent, including spaces before commas and full stops. Work on accurate article use, agreement, and past-tense forms, and keep sentence structures controlled. These corrections would improve clarity while preserving the range you are beginning to attempt.
