Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You cover both charts and provide a relevant overview: appliance ownership generally rose, while weekly housework time fell. You also select several key figures, including refrigerators rising from about 2% to 100% and housework dropping from 50 to around 11 hours. This gives the response a clear factual basis. Some details, however, are inaccurate or imprecise: refrigerators were at about 2%, not 0%, in 1920; vacuum-cleaner ownership was about 30%, not 40%; and washing-machine ownership rose from 40% to 70% by 1960, rather than increasing by 20% in that year. The overview also misses the refrigerator and vacuum cleaner reaching full ownership, and the slight decline in washing-machine ownership around 1980. More precise comparisons and a fuller overview would strengthen the report.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and two paragraphs reporting details. Grouping the refrigerator and vacuum-cleaner trends together, then discussing washing machines and housework, is a sensible way to organise the information. However, progression within sentences is sometimes unclear, particularly in “after that it uasge was reached at 100% and remained same,” where the sequence and reference are difficult to follow. Linking phrases such as “Beside this” and repeated “In 1920” make the connections somewhat mechanical. Use clearer comparisons and references—for example, contrast the appliances that reached 100% with the washing machine’s lower final figure—and check spacing after full stops. This would make the overall organisation more fluent and cohesion less noticeable.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for describing trends, including “increased significantly,” “steadily increased,” “fluctuating,” and “decreased over the time.” These choices show an attempt to vary the language rather than simply repeat “went up” and “went down.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “electrical machines,” “time utilize,” “usage … was surged,” and “houseworks.” Spelling errors including “uasge,” “housholds,” and “vaccum” also reduce precision. Aim for standard chart language and accurate forms: “electrical appliances,” “time spent doing housework,” “rose,” and “households.” More precise vocabulary would also help distinguish ownership from use, since the chart reports the percentage of households owning each appliance.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, and the main trends are generally understandable. For example, the overview links appliance ownership with the decline in housework hours. However, some grammatical errors affect clarity and control. In “In 1920, 40% house had washing machine,” the plural noun and article are missing; “that was increased by 20%” uses an incorrect passive form; and “after fluctuating it usage was 75%” has an unclear structure and pronoun form. There are also punctuation problems, such as missing spaces after full stops and commas. Practise accurate past-tense trend descriptions and sentence patterns such as “the proportion of households with a washing machine rose to…” while retaining your attempts to combine related information.
