Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Percentage of households with electrical appliances (1920-2019)
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The line graphs below illustrates that the number of electrical products consumers significantly changed and the amount of hours in housekeeping in households in one country from 1920 to 2019.
Overall, the demand of electrical appliances in households increased throughout the period in every category of appliances, Refrigerator sale rose drastically, whereas Vacuum cleaner ownership surged substantially. While Washing machine consumer edged up over time. In contrast, the number of hours per week decreased.
Looking at the details, the ownership of appliance, Refrigerator surged considerably around 0% to 90% from 1920 to 1960 and 10% point increased to 1980 than it remained constant till 2019. On comparing to Refrigerator, Vacuum cleaner consumer was the second most notable feature because it rocketed approximately from 30% to 100%, from 1920 to 2000 and the figure stayed same till 2019.
On the other hand, the percentage of household for Washing machine rose 40% to 70% between 1920 to 1960 and fluctuated in 1980 fell by 8% point and marginally increased around 62% to 73% from 1980 to 2019. the number of hours of housework per week per household declined considerably from 50 hours to 20 hours between 1920 to 1960 and sharply decreased to 10 hours, at 2019.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You identify the main overall pattern: appliance ownership generally rose, while weekly housework fell, and you compare the three appliances across the period. Several key figures are also reported accurately, including vacuum cleaner ownership rising from about 30% to 100% by 2000 and housework dropping from 50 to around 20 hours by 1960. This covers the task well, with some features more fully described than others. However, the refrigerator starts at about 2%, not 0%, and reaches 100% by 1980; it then remains at that level. The washing-machine account also misstates the later figures: it dips to about 65% in 1980, then rises to 75% by 2019, rather than falling by eight points and ending near 73%. More precise reporting would strengthen the overview and comparisons.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, and two detail paragraphs that group the appliance trends and housework figures. This gives the reader a coherent route through the information. Linking phrases such as “Overall,” “In contrast,” and “On the other hand” help signal comparisons, although some transitions feel mechanical or do not clearly connect the ideas. For example, “On comparing to Refrigerator” is an awkward lead-in, and the shift from appliance ownership to housework in the final sentence is abrupt. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, as in “the figure stayed same,” where the specific series should be named. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each comparison directly to the relevant data.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonably varied set of trend vocabulary, including “surged,” “rocketed,” “fluctuated,” “declined considerably,” and “remained constant.” These choices show an effort to describe change rather than simply repeat “increased” and “decreased.” However, several word combinations or forms are inaccurate, such as “demand of electrical appliances,” “Refrigerator sale,” “Washing machine consumer,” and “percentage of household for Washing machine.” These make the description less natural and sometimes obscure whether you mean ownership or sales. “Edged up” also understates the washing-machine rise across the full period. Aim for precise chart language such as “the proportion of households owning…” and use trend verbs that match the size and direction of each change.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and more complex structures, including contrast clauses with “whereas” and “while,” and time clauses such as “from 1920 to 1960.” The main trends remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. The opening says “graphs … illustrates,” where the plural subject requires “illustrate”; “the number of hours … decreased” is more accurate than “the amount of hours”; and “it remained constant” needs a clear antecedent. Several comparisons also have faulty patterns, for example “10% point increased to 1980 than it remained constant” and “from 1980 to 2019.” Sentence boundaries and capitalization need attention too: the final sentence begins with lowercase “the.” Check agreement, articles, and comparison structures when editing.
