Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

You cover both charts and provide a clear overview: appliance ownership generally rose, while weekly housework time fell. The main trends are supported with relevant figures, including refrigerators reaching full ownership by 1980 and vacuum cleaners by 2000. Your account of washing machines also captures the dip around 1980 followed by a rise. A few details are imprecise: the refrigerator begins at about 2%, rather than 1%, and housework ends at about 11 hours, not 10%. The overview could be more precise by noting that refrigerator and vacuum-cleaner ownership levelled off at 100%, while washing-machine ownership fluctuated modestly. Overall, the response selects and reports the key features clearly, with only minor inaccuracies and some scope to sharpen comparisons.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph on appliance ownership, and a final paragraph on housework. This makes the two charts easy to follow, and transitions such as “Overall,” “In addition,” and “In contrast” help signal relationships between points. The appliance paragraph also follows a broadly sensible sequence, moving through the years and comparing the three items. However, some linking is repetitive or awkward, particularly the repeated “then” and “then it” constructions, and “Nonetheless” does not express a clear contrast in its context. The final paragraph is brief and gives little detail about the stages of decline. More varied, precise transitions and clearer links between comparisons would make the progression smoother and less mechanical.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant chart vocabulary, including “increased significantly,” “remained stable,” “leveled off,” and “decreased,” so the main trends are generally understandable. There is also some attempt to vary descriptions of change. However, noticeable spelling errors—such as “ownnership,” “percetange,” “preaparing,” and “vocuum”—reduce accuracy, while phrases such as “grew up,” “reached at,” and “the feature of washing machine” are unnatural or imprecise for describing data. “Excessive time spent housework” also misrepresents the neutral idea of time spent doing housework. Aim for accurate collocations such as “rose to,” “stood at,” and “the proportion of households owning…” and proofread spelling. This would make your vocabulary more precise and natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of sentence forms, including comparisons and clauses introduced by “whereas,” “while,” and “after that.” These structures help you report several trends, and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, errors in verb forms and sentence construction occur across the response: “The line chart illustrate” needs subject–verb agreement, “it remain stable” needs a past-tense verb, and “the feature of washing machine was began” has an incorrect passive construction. Some phrases also lack necessary grammatical elements, as in “the percentage of households refrigerator,” and the final sentence incorrectly uses “10%” for a number of hours. Work on consistent past-tense reporting, agreement, articles, and complete noun phrases. More accurate control of these patterns would make the complex sentences easier to read.
