Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You cover both charts and report several key figures, including the rise in refrigerator ownership to 100% and the fall in housework time from 50 to around 11–12 hours. However, the overview is unclear: “noticeable differences” and “some categories show some fluctuations” do not identify the main overall pattern—that appliance ownership generally increased while housework declined. Some details are inaccurate or imprecise: washing-machine ownership was about 65% in 1980, not simply “below 62%”; refrigerator ownership reached 100% by 1980; and vacuum-cleaner ownership was about 70% in 1960, rather than 60%. The final claim that there is “no stability” also conflicts with the flat periods shown. Select the main trends and compare them more clearly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable sequence: an introduction, a general statement, appliance figures, and then housework figures. This gives the reader some organisation, and phrases such as “According to the chart” and “Furthermore” attempt to connect ideas. However, progression is weakened by the list-like presentation of dates and values, and the overview does not guide the reader toward the main comparisons. Some linking is inaccurate or awkward, such as “the first main activities” and “Let's have a look at remaning information,” while “This show a clear comparision” does not explain what is being compared. Use separate, focused paragraphs for the overview and the two sets of trends, and connect figures through meaningful comparisons rather than a sequence of labels.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant chart vocabulary, including “percentages,” “categories,” “fluctuations,” “stable,” and “per week,” so the topic is generally identifiable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which makes some descriptions difficult to interpret. For example, “fluctuations increment as well as decrement” is not a natural way to describe changes, and “the huge high 100 percentages” is unclear. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “notoiceable,” “differencess,” “comparision,” and “actvities.” Aim for precise trend language such as “rose,” “declined,” “levelled off,” and “reached 100%,” and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts both simple statements and longer constructions, but control is inconsistent. Several sentences lack a complete or correctly formed clause: “Overall, it can that there are…” is missing a verb, and “The followed by second activities refrigerator…” is not a complete sentence. Agreement and sentence structure are also problematic in “This show a clear comparision,” while the appliance figures are often presented as fragments rather than full sentences. Punctuation spacing and comma use further interrupt the reading. These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear, which is consistent with the current level of grammatical control. Practise writing complete subject–verb sentences, then combine related information with accurate clauses, for example, “Refrigerator ownership rose from 2% in 1920 to 100% by 1980.”
