Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the overall decline in housework and mention the rise of refrigerator and vacuum-cleaner ownership, so the response includes relevant features from both charts. However, several key statements are inaccurate or unclear: vacuum cleaners were not the leading appliance throughout, since refrigerators reached 100% by 1980 and vacuum cleaners only did so by 2000; washing machines were not the least popular throughout, as they exceeded refrigerators in 1920 and 1940. The claim that washing-machine ownership was “average” does not explain its trend, including its dip around 1980. The housework figure falls to about 15 hours by 1980, remains there in 2000, and then reaches about 11 in 2019, rather than simply reaching an unspecified lowest point. A more precise overview and selected comparisons would strengthen coverage.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an introduction, an overview, and two detail paragraphs, giving it some basic organisation. However, progression is not consistently logical: appliance trends and housework figures are mixed within the final paragraph, while the earlier paragraphs repeat broad claims without developing them in a clear sequence. Linking phrases such as “Scrutinizing deeper,” “Digging deeper,” and “Hereby, I conclude my report” are repetitive or unnatural for a concise chart summary, and the final sentence adds no useful information. Some references are also unclear, particularly “the number of Washing machine” and “the lowest point of chart.” Group the appliance trends together, then describe housework, and use straightforward links such as “By contrast” or “Meanwhile” only where they clarify comparisons.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
There is an adequate range of vocabulary, including attempts at more formal expressions such as “boomed,” “surpassed,” and “substantially.” Some choices, however, are inaccurate or poorly collocated for describing statistical data: “vacuum cleaner is the major possession,” “the number of Washing machine was avarage,” and “the percentage of hours” make the intended meaning less precise. “Scrutinizing deeper” and “Digging deeper” also sound overly elaborate and repetitive in this report. Spelling errors such as “avarage” are noticeable, although the main message remains understandable. Aim for precise chart language—“proportion of households,” “ownership rose,” “remained stable,” and “hours spent on housework”—rather than using dramatic or conversational expressions.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple statements and some longer structures, including “the percentage of Vacuum cleaner surpassed the Washing machine between 1940 and 1980,” so there is an attempt to vary sentence forms. However, errors in sentence construction and grammatical patterns recur. For example, “figure of time which spent to do housework” lacks a correctly formed relative clause, and “the figure of time spent on housework was at peaked” combines incompatible verb forms. In “Then, It fall substantially and reached at the lowest point,” the verb form and sentence punctuation are inaccurate. Articles and number agreement also need attention in phrases such as “vacuum cleaner is the major possession in every household.” Use past-tense verbs consistently and check each sentence for a complete, correctly formed subject–verb structure.
