Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You cover both charts and identify the main overall patterns: appliance ownership generally rose, while weekly housework fell. Several key figures are reported accurately, including washing machines at 40% in 1920 and 70% in 1960, and housework declining from 50 to 15 hours by 1980. Some details are less precise: the washing-machine figure in 1980 is about 65%, rather than “nearly 62%,” and the final figure is about 75%, not 72%. The refrigerator began at about 2%, rather than zero, and reached full ownership by 1980, not 2000. The overview also overgeneralises because washing-machine ownership dipped before rising again. More accurate comparisons and a clearer account of when each series levelled off would strengthen the summary.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate discussion of appliance ownership and housework. This makes the information broadly easy to follow. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, with repeated transitions such as “Start with,” “Now come forward,” and “now discuss.” Some links between ideas are unclear, and the long appliance paragraph combines two series without a clear comparison. Use more neutral sequencing and group related trends—for example, describe the refrigerator and vacuum cleaner together because both reach full ownership, while noting that they do so at different times. Clearer sentence boundaries and consistent paragraphing would also make the progression smoother.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “proportion,” “increased steadily,” “reached,” and “diminished,” so the reader can understand the main trends. There is also some attempt to vary the language used for rises and falls. However, several choices are unnatural or imprecise for describing charts, such as “electrical equipment used by residence,” “house chores at per week,” and “it was shrinked.” Repetition of “year” and “increased” also limits flexibility. Aim for accurate collocations such as “households owning appliances,” “hours of housework per week,” and “fell to.” More precise vocabulary will help distinguish a rise, a decline, and a period of stability without making the description sound conversational.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences that connect changes over time, and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, errors in agreement, articles, tense, and sentence construction occur across the response. For example, “The line graph illustrate” needs subject–verb agreement, while “the graph depict” has the same issue. Phrases such as “the year 1960 it slowly down” lack a correctly formed verb, and “it was remained same” uses an incorrect passive construction. Some sentences also run together or have incomplete structures, making relationships between figures less clear. Practise a reliable pattern such as “The figure rose from X to Y between [years]” and check each sentence for a subject, a correctly formed verb, and appropriate punctuation.
