Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You identify the main overall pattern: appliance ownership generally rose while housework time fell, and you include relevant figures such as refrigerators reaching full household coverage by 1980 and housework declining from 50 to about 10 hours. This covers both charts and supports the overview. The response also notes the vacuum cleaner’s rise to universal ownership by 2000. However, some details are incomplete or unclear: the washing-machine account gives only a rise from 40% to 70%, omitting its dip around 1980 and later recovery to 75%, and the refrigerator’s sharp rise is not described precisely. The claim of a “clear relationship” is plausible but could be supported by comparing the series more carefully. More accurate, selective reporting would make the account more fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph on appliance ownership, and a final paragraph on housework time. This gives the reader a coherent overall route through the two charts. Linking phrases such as “Overall,” “As per the first graph,” and “The second line chart” help signal the stages, although some are mechanical or awkward. The opening sentence is difficult to follow because it repeats the idea of time spent on chores and runs into the next clause without clear punctuation. Within the appliance paragraph, several trends are compressed into one long sentence, so comparisons are not always easy to track. Use clearer sentence boundaries and organise the appliance details into a more balanced sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant chart vocabulary, including “ownership,” “household devices,” “domestic chores,” “dropped significantly,” and “per week,” which helps communicate the main trends. There is also some attempt to vary wording rather than repeat the chart labels. However, inaccurate word forms, spelling, and collocations are noticeable: “despict,” “cooresponding,” “drastically increased,” and “equiped by every household” reduce precision and sometimes make the meaning less natural. Phrases such as “amount of time utilize doing housework” and “the average no of hours” are also awkward for an academic summary. Aim for accurate, conventional expressions such as “time spent doing housework” and “the proportion of households owning.” Proofreading spelling and choosing natural collocations would strengthen clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex forms, including a contrast introduced by “while” and a cause-and-effect statement in the overview. The main trends are generally understandable, but some grammatical errors affect sentence control. For example, “there has a significantly increase” has an incorrect verb construction, and “by the 1980,every household one” is missing a complete predicate. The opening sentence also contains a sentence-boundary problem, while “three out of ten household have” shows agreement and plural errors. Articles and tense forms are not consistently controlled. Build a reliable base with complete subject–verb structures, then use subordinate clauses selectively; careful punctuation and checking agreement would make the complex attempts clearer.
