Percentage of households with electrical appliances (1920-2019)
Student answer (Band 5.5)
This chart tells us about how the electrical appliances used over the years by the owners of the houses in the same country from 1920 to 2019 and on the other chart it tells us about the working hours they did in these years.
In the first chart we clearly see the variations in the usage percentage of electrical appliances as the washing machine and the vacum cleaner used as the same of 30 to 40 percent in 1920 to 1960 and all from that it almost the same usage in 1960 than the usage of vacum cleaner rocketed but the washing machine also increases and the refrigerator use also increases over the years from 0 in 1920 to 100 percent in 2019.
Electrical appliances useage clearly increases over the years whatever what it is wheather it is washing machine or refrigerator or a vacum cleaner but the thing we clearly see the refrigerator use always increases but at the same time working hours by households decreases because of machines work all the time comperatively.
In these two charts also shows us how machines take palce in our society and how we let the work on mamchines rather than we do work by own. in al these years the usage of the machines increased shockingly on the other hand people do work by their own body decresing rapidly.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the broad patterns that appliance ownership generally rose while housework time fell, and you refer to both charts. However, the account is only partly accurate and the main features are not clearly selected or supported with reliable comparisons. For example, you say washing-machine and vacuum-cleaner ownership was “the same” from 1920 to 1960, although their figures differ at each point, and the washing-machine trend is not consistently upward because it dips from about 70% in 1960 to 65% in 1980. The claim that refrigerator use “always increases” also overlooks its plateau at 100% after 1980. Include a concise overview and key figures, especially the fall in housework from 50 to 11 hours.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, discussion of the appliance chart, and concluding comments about the relationship between appliance ownership and housework. This gives the reader some organisation, and the broad comparison between the charts is relevant. However, progression within paragraphs is difficult to follow, particularly in the second paragraph, where several appliance trends are combined in a long, unclear sentence. Linking phrases such as “all from that,” “but the thing,” and “on the other hand” do not clearly show how the points relate. The final paragraph repeats the general idea rather than adding a focused comparison. Organise the body by chart or by key trends, and use clear references and transitions to connect specific figures.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “percentage,” “usage,” “increases,” and “decreases,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “use” and “over the years.” Some choices are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “the washing machine … used as the same,” “rocketed” for a measured increase, and “people do work by their own body.” Spelling errors, including “vacum,” “useage,” “comperatively,” and “mamchines,” also reduce clarity and control. Aim for precise chart language such as “ownership,” “rose,” “fell,” and “remained stable,” and check spelling and collocations before finishing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
There are attempts to combine ideas using clauses and contrast, but sentence structures are often faulty, and errors sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. For example, “In these two charts also shows us” lacks a clear grammatical subject, while “the washing machine as the same of 30 to 40 percent” is not a complete, well-formed comparison. Agreement and verb patterns are also problematic in “the refrigerator use always increases” and “we let the work on machines.” Several sentences run on without effective punctuation, particularly the long sentence beginning “In the first chart.” Use shorter, complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and practise accurate comparative forms and past-tense reporting structures.
