Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify the broad subject and report several relevant appliance trends, including the refrigerator’s rise to 100% and the vacuum cleaner reaching full ownership by 2000. However, the response only partially covers the task: the second chart, showing housework hours, is not reported at all, and there is no overview of the overall decline from 50 to 11 hours per week. Some figures are also inaccurate: washing-machine ownership was about 70% in 1960, not 60%, and the refrigerator reached 90% in 1960 before rising to 100% in 1980, rather than stopping in 1960. Focus on the main patterns in both charts and support them with accurate comparisons.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a basic paragraph structure, with an opening, an overview-like statement, and separate paragraphs about appliances. This gives the reader some sense of how the information is grouped. However, progression is limited because the housework chart is omitted, and the appliance descriptions do not consistently move through the years in a clear, controlled way. Connectors such as “but after” and “then” are repeated, while references such as “its value” and “this electric things” are unclear. Organise the report around an overview followed by logically grouped comparisons, and use precise references and a wider range of linking expressions to make relationships between figures clearer.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-related vocabulary, including “ownership,” “demand,” “increased,” and “reached,” so the reader can generally identify the topic and direction of change. However, the range is limited and several choices are inaccurate or unnatural for describing chart data. For example, “the sale … is stop” confuses sales with household ownership, while “demand” is repeatedly used where “proportion of households” or “ownership” is more precise. Spelling errors such as “fefrigerator,” “cleanner,” and “persent” are noticeable, and phrases like “big achivement for ones” are unsuitable in an academic report. Build a more accurate set of trend and proportion terms and check spelling.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer sentences, for example, “The value of refrigerator is less in the begning in 1920 … But after people took keen interset on them,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in agreement and verb forms occur frequently: “The given charts illustrates,” “The washing machine is also rose,” and “its figer is rased.” Articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries are also often inaccurate, as in “the highest demand … is refrigerator and vacuum cleaner” and the run-on construction beginning “In the year of 1960.” These errors sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using controlled clauses and consistent past-tense reporting.
