The line graphs show changes in ownership of washing machines, refrigerator and vaccum cleaner, as well as the number of hours spent on house work in a country from 1920 to 2019.
Overall, it is clearly seen that the ownership of househopld appliance increased over the period. In contrast, the time spent on housework decreased significantly.
In 1920, washing machines were the most common househols eletricle appilance, with 40% households owning them. Vaccum cleaner were used by 30% homies, while almost no household used refrigerator. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You cover both charts and provide a clear overview: appliance ownership generally rose, while time spent on housework fell. The main comparisons are relevant, including the refrigerator’s sharp rise and the washing machine’s slight dip before recovery. Most reported figures match the chart, but there is an important inaccuracy: washing-machine ownership was 60% in 1940, not 60% in 1960; it reached 70% in 1960. The housework figure in 2019 is about 11 hours rather than 10, a small approximation. To make the account more fully developed, include the vacuum cleaner’s continued rise to 100% by 2000 and note that refrigerator ownership reached 100% by 1980 and then remained there.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The response is organised in a clear sequence: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph on appliance ownership and a final paragraph on housework. This makes the main trends easy to follow, and transitions such as “Overall,” “Meanwhile” and “Regarding housework” help signal shifts between points. The progression within the appliance paragraph is generally logical, moving from the starting point to later years. To strengthen cohesion further, make the time comparisons more systematic and avoid jumping from 1920 to 1960 and then directly to 2019 without explaining the intermediate stages. A more balanced paragraph structure could also connect the two charts’ trends more explicitly.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “ownership,” “increased sharply,” “fluctuations” and “decreased significantly,” which helps communicate the main trends. However, spelling errors are noticeable and sometimes distract the reader: “vaccum,” “househopld,” “eletricle,” “appilance,” “homies,” “ownersgip” and “weeek.” There are also imprecise or unnatural choices, such as “used by 30% homies” and “almost no household used refrigerator.” Aim for accurate forms such as “vacuum cleaner,” “households owned,” and “almost no households owned a refrigerator.” The range is adequate for describing the charts, but greater accuracy and more natural collocations are needed for clearer, more flexible reporting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, including contrast clauses such as “In contrast, the time spent on housework decreased significantly” and a sentence describing the washing-machine fluctuation. Most meanings remain clear, but some grammatical errors persist. For example, “Vacuum cleaner were” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “reaching at 10 hours” uses an incorrect preposition and “It then continue to fall” has an incorrect verb form. Articles and plural forms also need attention in phrases such as “with 40% households owning them” and “used refrigerator.” Check agreement, tense consistency and article use when editing; improving these points would make the otherwise understandable sentences more accurate.
