Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You cover both charts and provide a clear overview: appliance ownership generally rose, while housework time fell. Several key trends are supported with figures, including refrigerators reaching 100% by 1980 and vacuum cleaners reaching full ownership by 2000. However, some details are inaccurate or unclear. The refrigerator figure in 1920 was about 2%, not zero, and washing-machine ownership fell by about five percentage points in 1980, not eight; it then rose to around 75% in 2019, rather than ending at 65%. The overview also says washing-machine use remained comparatively low, which is less precise than noting it fluctuated and finished below the other appliances. More accurate reporting of these details would make the account more complete and reliable.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs describing appliance ownership and housework hours. This makes the two charts easy to identify, and the chronological sequence in the appliance paragraph generally helps the reader follow the changes. Some linking and reference choices are less clear, however. For example, “usage per hour” does not clearly identify the housework measure, and “it” in “it is around 70 percent” could refer to either the year or washing-machine ownership. The final paragraph also gives only the starting, intermediate, and ending housework figures, leaving the middle trend less fully connected. Use explicit labels and clearer transitions between series to strengthen progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of task-related vocabulary, including “remained constant,” “increased,” “lowered,” and “households,” so the main trends are usually understandable. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or repetitive. “Electronics ownership” and “use of electronic devices” are less suitable for describing the percentage of households that own appliances, while “time consumed doing the housechores” is awkward. “Massively increased” is repeated and sounds imprecise for a data summary; “rose sharply” or “increased substantially” would be more appropriate. There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “illsutrates,” “hosuehould,” and “dramaticallly.” More precise trend vocabulary and careful proofreading would improve clarity and control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including contrast in “but the use of washing machine remained comparatively low” and a relative clause in “where it is 100% and remained constant till 2019.” The meaning is generally recoverable, but some grammatical errors recur. Subject–verb agreement is inconsistent in “The given charts illustrates” and “Use of all electronic devices are increased.” Tense control also shifts between past and present when describing historical data, as in “Data shows” and “it reached.” Articles, plurals, and sentence construction need attention in phrases such as “washing machine were present” and “it reached to 100%.” Aim to use consistent past-tense reporting and check agreement and sentence patterns; this would make your varied structures more accurate.
