Student answer (Band 5.5)
The two line graphs shows the information of the changes in ownership of electrical appliances and amount if time spent doing housework in households in a country between the year of 1920 and 2019.The graphs illustrate that percentage of households with electrical appliances like washing machine, refrigerator and vacuum cleaner are rising as the years are passing. On the other hand hours of houseworking is falling as the years are passing.By this we can conclude that as the time passes use of electrical appliance grt increase and working hours get decrease because of the techonology and also the nature of peoples also get change they all want to complete work easily. In the year 1920, percentage of household with washing machine was 40 percent, by the 2019 it raised to around 75 percent. In the year 1920, percentage of household with refrigerator was 30 percent by the 2019 it raised to 100 percent.Same with vaccum cleaner.Because of increase in electrical appliances working hours decreased from 50 hour per week in 1920 to 10 hours per week in 2019

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the two broad trends: appliance ownership generally increased, while weekly housework time fell. You also report several relevant figures, including washing machines rising from 40% to about 75% and housework declining from 50 to around 10 hours. However, some key details are inaccurate: refrigerators began at about 2%, not 30%, and “same with vacuum cleaner” does not report its actual rise from 30% to 100%. The overview also says all appliance ownership is rising, overlooking that washing-machine ownership dipped slightly around 1980 and refrigerator ownership levelled off at 100%. The explanation about technology and people’s changing nature is speculative rather than chart-based. More accurate comparisons and a clearer account of the main stages would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable sequence: it introduces the charts, gives a general trend, and then mentions figures. This provides some organisation, and the contrast signalled by “On the other hand” is relevant. However, the ideas are compressed into one long paragraph, with no clear separation between an overview and supporting details. Several sentences repeat the same general point about changes “as the years are passing,” while “By this we can conclude” leads into an unsupported explanation rather than a chart comparison. The reference “Same with vacuum cleaner” is also unclear because it does not specify what happened. Use distinct paragraphs and organise the details by trend or appliance, with clear links between each comparison.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “percentage of households,” “electrical appliances,” and “hours per week,” so the topic is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or awkward, such as “hours of houseworking,” “use of electrical appliance grt increase,” and “working hours get decrease.” Repetition of “as the years are passing” also limits precision. Spelling errors such as “techonology” and “vaccum” make the writing less controlled, while “nature of peoples” is vague and not appropriate for describing chart data. Build a more precise set of trend verbs and collocations, such as “rose,” “declined,” “levelled off,” and “housework time,” and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response mainly uses simple statements and attempts some longer sentences, but control is inconsistent. For example, “The two line graphs shows” has a subject–verb agreement error, and “percentage of households … are rising” also mismatches the singular subject. The phrase “by the 2019 it raised” has problems with article use and verb form; “it had risen” or “it rose” would fit the intended meaning. Missing spaces after full stops and the lack of clear sentence boundaries in the opening make the text harder to read. There is some attempt to connect clauses with “as” and “because,” but these structures are not consistently controlled. Practise accurate past-tense reporting and agreement, then punctuate each complete sentence clearly.
