Student answer (Band 6.0)

In today's fast-paced world, movies play a vital role in everyone's life. Many people think that they can watch entertainment thing on their mobile phone or laptop at home while others say that if we want a enjoyment then we need to be see in a theatre. I personally believe that cinema is a more enjoyable experience than watching at home. Here I will discussing both these views and giving my opinion on this topic.

The first and the foremost view on first point that older group of people are not like to watch movie in cinema because of younger generation are more shouting in theatre so they are watching movies at home. Moreover, many people save money from avoiding go to entertainment place and watching free movie in cellphone and laptop. One good illustration on this topic is that nowadays Netflix, Amazon Prime and many other application provides a better option than cinema.

On the other side of view, people can be enjoy more at cinema with the family, friends and their loved ones. Also, there is a good environment because of the people and there are some good amenities like seating, lighting, bigger screen and sound system are much better than smart phone, laptop and other smart devices. To illustrate, today cinema have a perfect recliner seat with good adjustment button and sound proof walls are making more creative.

In conclusion, there are an advantages and cons of both side of stories but I personally think cinema give us memory with our loved ones and good experience every single time than watching at home.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and state a clear preference for cinema in the introduction and conclusion. The points about cost and streaming services explain why people may choose to watch at home, while the larger screen, sound system and social experience support your own view. These are relevant ideas, but some are less fully developed: for example, the claim that older people avoid cinemas because younger audiences shout is not explained or supported, and the benefits of watching at home could be compared more directly with cinema. The examples are mostly general rather than specific. To strengthen the response, explain the consequences of each point and use a concrete example to show why one viewing experience is preferable.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion that restates your opinion. This logical arrangement makes the main direction easy to follow, and transitions such as “On the other side” help signal a change in viewpoint. Some linking is mechanical or awkward, however, as in “The first and the foremost view on first point,” and the opening paragraph promises to discuss both views rather than moving directly into the argument. Connections between ideas within paragraphs could also be clearer; the point about older viewers and the point about saving money are placed together without an explanation of their relationship. Use simpler, more precise transitions and develop one point at a time.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “streaming” services by naming Netflix and Amazon Prime, and terms such as “bigger screen,” “sound system” and “recliner seat.” There are also attempts at less common or descriptive language, such as “fast-paced world” and “vital role,” but several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural. Examples include “entertainment thing,” “a good environment,” and “more creative” when describing cinema facilities. These choices sometimes make the intended meaning less precise, though the overall message remains understandable. Build a more reliable range of phrases for comparing experiences, costs and facilities, and check whether adjectives and nouns naturally fit together.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the response is generally understandable. However, errors occur across verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction. For example, “I will discussing” should be “I will discuss,” “people can be enjoy” should be “people can enjoy,” and “cinema give us memory” needs a plural subject and a more accurate noun form. The sentence beginning “The first and the foremost view” is also difficult to follow because its clauses are not constructed clearly. These errors sometimes make the reader pause, particularly in the first body paragraph. Practise forming accurate clauses with modal verbs and infinitives, and check subject–verb agreement and articles when editing.
