Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While the arguments regarding convenience and cost-saving are relevant, they are repetitive and lack depth. The conclusion is a bit brief and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented. The position is consistent, but the supporting examples, such as 'coming home from work', are quite generic. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on the implications of your arguments rather than simply restating them.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or awkward, such as 'As a consequent'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and some sentences feel disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a strong topic sentence would enhance the flow and coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. You rely on common phrases like 'day by day', 'good choice', and 'make more happier'. There are also some word-choice errors, such as 'natives' (used incorrectly to mean 'people') and 'board' (should be 'bored'). To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to media, entertainment, and technology, and focus on using collocations more accurately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity, such as 'the statement will be discuss' (should be 'discussed'), 'if someone feel board' (should be 'feels bored'), and 'assist people spend time' (should be 'assist people in spending time'). Subject-verb agreement and preposition usage are inconsistent throughout the text. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band score.
