Student answer (Band 6.5)

Now a days, everyone is giving priority to watch films in mobiles rather than in theaters, because of raising ticket praises or various other reasons. For the next few minutes, we will discuss about this topic.

Firstly, movie is an eye feast for many individuals and in this modern technology most of the films were releasing on online platform and the one which was releasing in theaters are coming to OTT within one month, which making people to think like rather than watching in theater it better to watch at home. Other reasons for watching in mobile was hiking ticket prices, heavy rush in theaters and uncomfortable seating.

Secondly, watching a movie in theater is entirely different from mobile, because the audio, graphics and the vibe we can't experience in a mobile. For instance, if we watch an animated movie in mobile, won't make much difference from a non-graphical movie. In order to experience visual graphics, it is best to watch in theater.

In my opinion, watching a film in theater is best option, if we watch a movie in mobile like avatar it won't give a good experience and if we watch the same film in 3d with the high intensity it will stay in our mind for lifelong and it was like experiencing a magical world for 2 or 3hours, which was not possible in mobile.

So, in my point of view everyone who want to get a relaxation from their daily life routine and to experience a visual graphics, it is best to watch in theater.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention reasons for watching films at home (cost, convenience) and at the cinema (audio, graphics, experience), the arguments could be more thoroughly extended with more specific examples or deeper analysis. The introduction is slightly informal and lacks a clear thesis statement. To reach a higher band, ensure that each body paragraph fully explores the implications of the points raised rather than just listing them. The conclusion effectively summarizes your stance, but the overall structure feels a bit brief for a 250-word essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In my opinion' to signal transitions. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally unclear (e.g., 'the one which was releasing'). Some sentences are run-on or lack proper punctuation, which affects the overall coherence. To improve, try to use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each sentence connects smoothly to the previous one to create a more cohesive narrative.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'OTT', 'visual graphics', and 'animated movie'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choices and collocations, such as 'raising ticket praises' (should be 'rising ticket prices') and 'eye feast' (which is not standard English). There is also some repetition of basic vocabulary. To achieve a higher score, focus on using more precise collocations and academic vocabulary, and ensure that you are using words in their correct context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('movie is an eye feast', 'reasons... was hiking'), article usage, and sentence fragments. For example, 'which making people to think' is grammatically incorrect. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that your verbs agree with your subjects and that your complex sentences are punctuated correctly.
