Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The essay addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While the points regarding convenience and cost are relevant, they are not fully extended with sophisticated reasoning. The conclusion is incomplete, which is a significant omission that impacts the overall task completion. To improve, ensure that each paragraph provides a more detailed explanation of the 'why' behind your arguments and always complete your concluding summary to provide a sense of closure to the reader.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the first hand', 'On the other hand', and 'Consequently'. However, some of these are used incorrectly or sound unnatural (e.g., 'On the first hand' should be 'On the one hand'). Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between sentences can be mechanical. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words more naturally and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that guides the reader.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'contemporary era', 'pivotal role', and 'mouth-watering'. However, there are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'individaul', 'humen', 'visting', 'dicuss', 'enterainnment', 'verioius') and some word choice inaccuracies (e.g., 'excels our saving' instead of 'increases our savings'). These errors occasionally distract the reader. To improve, focus on proofreading your work to catch common spelling mistakes and try to use more precise collocations to express your ideas more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues (e.g., 'many people thinks', 'we do not requires') and incorrect preposition usage. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent and affect the overall fluency of the writing. To improve, pay closer attention to basic grammar rules, particularly verb conjugations and pluralization, and practice constructing more complex sentences with correct punctuation.
