Student answer (Band 7.0)
It is argued by some people to enjoy films in small screens where as other would love to watch movies in theaters. This essay going to discuss about both perspectives and in my opinion I would say films must be watch in cinemas.
One of the major advantage of watching movies in theatre is the audience can get an immersive feeling with huge visuals and high quality sound systems. This will make a feeling of getting inside the film than just watching it. For instance, a high standard theatre can make a person feel the visuals such as rain or traffic that is screening. Moreover, watching in large screens can give us more details than seeing it in phones or tablets.
However, watching films in phones or tablets have its own advantages. The most significant benefit is it is a way cheaper, because with one subscription we could able to watch a plethora of movies in a single platform. Platforms such as Amazon prime, Netflix and Sony Liv are very good examples for this. Furthermore, this method of watching have a positive side of skipping the boring part and save some time where as it is not possible in watching it in theatres. Additionally, if we have a confusing part in video it is very easy to go back to that particular part and can rewatch it.
In conclusion, watching films in cinemas and small screens both have advantages and drawbacks. But in my point of view films are made for theatres and audience should feel and enjoy every moments in cinemas itself.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both perspectives and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the immersive experience of cinemas versus the convenience and cost-effectiveness of streaming services. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat basic. For instance, the point about 'skipping the boring part' is a valid observation but could be expanded upon to explain how this changes the viewer's engagement with the narrative. The position is consistent throughout, and the essay structure is logical. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is fully explored with more depth and nuanced reasoning.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each focusing on a specific aspect of the topic. Cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'However', 'The most significant benefit', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader through the argument. While the flow is generally smooth, some transitions feel slightly mechanical. Additionally, there are minor issues with referencing and sentence-level cohesion, such as the phrase 'this method of watching have a positive side', where the pronoun reference could be more precise. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate and the progression of ideas is easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the student to convey their ideas clearly. There is an attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'immersive feeling', 'high quality sound systems', and 'plethora of movies'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'films must be watch' (should be 'watched') and 'a way cheaper' (should be 'much cheaper'). The range is sufficient to discuss the topic, but more precise or sophisticated vocabulary would be needed to reach a higher band. The errors do not impede communication, but they do highlight a limitation in lexical control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the accuracy of the writing. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('this method of watching have', 'films must be watch') and awkward phrasing ('It is argued by some people to enjoy films in small screens'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are minor errors in sentence construction. To improve, the student should focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that complex sentence structures are grammatically sound.
