Student answer (Band 6.5)

It is opines by some that movies can be watched by people at their comfort zone instead of going outside but some people think that movies should be seen in theatres to enjoy. There are a numerous positives to watch movies at home, I state that going to cinema to watch films is more enjoyable.

On the one hand, there are an abundant reasons as to why people think that films can be seen without going to cinema. The main one is that, as per high living cost money can be saved by watching movies at home. Apart form this, in this modern era, people get very less time at their homes and with families, so they can make plans to watch it together. Other than this, in this modern generation, they have no patience level, so they like to watch their episodes on the spot instead of waiting. To explain, they have high cost mobile phones and they can watch wherever they want.

On the other hand, there are a number of reasons behind this phenomenon. Firstly, the bigger screens of the cinema, where people can watch movies with all effects. To explain it, a good photo quality, sound system as beat, volume and base etcetera. Secondly, they can enjoy there with without any extra noise and disturbing environment. Finally, it is a great chance to to spend time outside with there near and dear ones and they can make memories.

In conclusion, saving of time and money are the main reasons behind this scenario,

I reiterate that the benefits of going outside cannot be ignored.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have addressed all parts of the prompt by discussing both perspectives and providing a clear personal opinion. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention saving money and time as reasons for watching at home, these points could be expanded with more specific examples or deeper analysis. Similarly, your arguments for the cinema experience are valid but rely on brief descriptions. To reach a higher band, ensure that each main point is fully extended with a clear explanation or a concrete example to demonstrate a more thorough engagement with the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

Your essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand,' 'On the other hand,' and 'Firstly/Secondly' to transition between ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the connection between ideas is slightly abrupt. To improve, try to use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that your referencing (e.g., 'this phenomenon') is always clear and precise. The overall progression of ideas is logical, but the cohesion could be more sophisticated.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'modern era,' 'phenomenon,' and 'near and dear ones.' However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'It is opines by some,' 'a numerous positives,' and 'sound system as beat.' These errors occasionally distract the reader. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that your word forms (e.g., 'opined' instead of 'opines') are accurate. Expanding your vocabulary to include more precise academic terms would also help elevate your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'there are an abundant reasons,' 'people get very less time,' and 'enjoy there with without any extra noise.' These errors, particularly with articles, prepositions, and subject-verb agreement, are noticeable. While they do not completely impede communication, they occur often enough to affect the clarity of your writing. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and practice using more complex sentence structures with greater precision.
