Student answer (Band 6.5)

In the recent decade, the way people live and think has been drastically changed. In such scenario, some group of people opine that it is a great convinence to watch drama on tablets and cell phones. While others believe that orignal thrill is enjoying the cinema on big pictures. This eassy will dicsuss both the views before presenting my own stand point in the ensuing paragraphs.

On the one hand, technological advancement has revolutionised the film industry by providing the experience as well as the lively stimulation with the advent of high defination screens on small gadgets. Moreover,in the contemporary world where people are agressively running behind materialism they have no time to visit theaters. However, mobile phones allows them to enjoy short films and drama not only when commuting but also in there lunch hours at work. To illustrate, mass individuals are currently purchasing i-pads and phones that has 4K screens providing same exeprience of theatre at home. Hence, this provides flexiblity and ease to citizens.

On the other hand, there are numerous advantages of going to cinema. First and foremost, high defination screens for instance like I-MAX, DOLBY which have 360 resolution with extraordinary sound systems cannot be experienced in phones. Secondly, individuals can unwind themselves from the mundane and monotonus life with the adventureous feel of the 3-D cinema that creates a real life aura and feel of liveliness.Ergo huge screens provide aamazing and actual feel of the story.

To conclude, Although phones and tablets give comfort and are userfriendly, cinemas provides unforgattable enjoyment of the drama. I firmly believe individuals should make choice as per there availablity and experience both as per the time availablity.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. The ideas are relevant, such as the convenience of mobile devices versus the immersive experience of cinema. However, the development is somewhat limited; for instance, the argument about 'materialism' is not clearly linked to the topic of film consumption. While the position is clear, the supporting arguments could be more thoroughly extended to reach a higher band. The response covers all parts of the prompt, but the depth of analysis remains at a functional level.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is logically organized into four paragraphs. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand', 'Moreover', and 'To conclude', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is slightly disrupted by awkward phrasing (e.g., 'In such scenario'). Paragraphing is appropriate, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. The use of referencing is generally clear, though some sentences could be better linked to improve the overall cohesion.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but shows some limitations. There are several spelling errors (e.g., 'convinence', 'orignal', 'eassy', 'dicsuss', 'defination', 'exeprience', 'unforgattable') and minor word-choice issues (e.g., 'mass individuals' instead of 'many people'). While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'technological advancement' and 'monotonous', the frequency of spelling mistakes and occasional imprecise collocations prevent a higher score. The range is sufficient to convey meaning, but precision is lacking.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'phones that has 4K screens', 'cinemas provides') and article usage. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and periods. While the meaning is generally clear and the errors do not severely impede communication, the high frequency of these slips indicates a lack of control over complex structures, keeping the score in the mid-range.
