Student answer (Band 6.5)

There are certain people who believes that in present days we can watch movies in Mobiles or Tablets rather than witnessing in cinemas, while others believes to get pleasure watching in cinemas is ideal.

Although watching movies on phones saves money while seeing it in cinemas gives us more satisfaction.

Firstly, It is very flexible and save cost from watching movies on phones. These days the ticket rates are sky rocketing which makes lower income people hard to watch on cinemas. It's saves lots of money as well as gives them opportunity to watch movie conveniently at any time. For example My family most of the movies we started to watch on OTT platform with family on weekends in our own television it gives lots of fun at the same time saves money.

On the other hand, In my opinion although watching movies lot of benefits but there are certain movies which gives satisfaction and important to watch in cinemas. It is because few movies are not only meant to know the story but having lively experience like music, background score and cinematography are more convenient in big screens. For Instance I watched one of the India's biggest blockbuster movie in Home also later in theater when i compare theater experience gave me more pleasure and understanding about movie than in Phone.

In Conclusion, People can watch plenty of movies in mobile phones which cost-free and flexible while it gives more satisfaction when we experience in theater rather than at home.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention cost and convenience for home viewing, and sensory experience for cinema viewing, these points could be expanded with more depth. For instance, you could discuss the social aspect of cinemas or the technological advancements in home entertainment. The position is clear throughout, but the conclusion is slightly repetitive and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented. To improve, ensure each body paragraph has a clear topic sentence and more detailed supporting evidence.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'On the other hand', and 'In Conclusion'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and some transitions are missing or awkward, such as the abrupt start to the second paragraph. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the use of punctuation is inconsistent, which affects the overall cohesion. To reach a higher band, try to use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that your sentences are connected more fluidly to create a smoother progression of ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some relevant topic-specific vocabulary like 'OTT platform', 'cinematography', and 'blockbuster'. However, there are instances of word-choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'witnessing in cinemas' instead of 'watching in cinemas' and 'cost-free' when you mean 'cost-effective'. Some expressions are repetitive, and there is a lack of more sophisticated, less common lexical items. To improve, focus on learning collocations and using more precise vocabulary to describe your points, rather than relying on basic descriptive words.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

There is a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. You have frequent errors in subject-verb agreement, such as 'people who believes' and 'others believes'. There are also issues with article usage ('in Mobiles', 'in Home') and prepositional errors. While these errors rarely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. To improve, pay closer attention to basic grammatical rules like subject-verb agreement and pluralization. Additionally, try to vary your sentence structures more intentionally, ensuring that complex sentences are constructed accurately without losing clarity.
