Student answer (Band 6.5)

Some people believe that due to the advancement of technology, it is the best way to watch films from phones or tablets. While, others claim that, going to the cinema is more enjoyable. I believe to going to the cinema is more appropriate way to relax.

The people those are in the favour of staying at home and watching movies from electronic devices because of the convenience and time saving. Due to the hectic lifestyle, after long hours of work, people prefer to stay at home. Since they feel exhausted physically as well mentally. They do not have enough energy to go outside. if they stay at home they can watch movies anytime, when they would be free. They do not need to go outside. The time they have to spend to go to the cinema within that time they can watch a movie. It could be either morning or in the nights. Hence they can stay at home and can see films from their phones or tablets, whenever they want without going outside.

When people prefer to go to the Cinema so that, they can get a break from their daily activities. It also prevents the monotony of life. watching movies on the big screens helps to ease their stress and for that 2 or 3 hours, they forget about their tensions. Big screen provides real experience and real imagination about the any scenes. Consequently, people feel relaxed and get a chance to do something new.

In my opinion, going to the cinema for watching films is more interesting as well beneficial. it people would go to the cinema they will meet there people and going with their loved once also strengthen their bonds among family members. For example, if couples go to the theatre they feel more valuable about themself. which leads to make their relationship more strong.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both the convenience of home viewing and the immersive experience of the cinema. You clearly state your opinion in the introduction and maintain it throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive, particularly in the second and third paragraphs where the benefits of the cinema are discussed. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph introduces a distinct, well-supported point rather than restating similar ideas. The conclusion effectively summarizes your position, though it could be more concise.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices like 'consequently', 'although', and 'for example', which help the flow. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as starting a paragraph with 'why people prefer...' which is grammatically incomplete and disrupts the flow. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and some transitions between sentences feel abrupt. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words will help your ideas progress more naturally.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using words like 'monotony', 'convenient', and 'advantageous'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'relise real experience', 'valuable about themself', and 'hands-on experience' (which is not typically used to describe watching a film). Spelling errors, such as 'convient' and 'strengt', also occur. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and proofreading for spelling accuracy.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, they are frequently marred by grammatical errors, such as 'I believe to going to the cinema' (should be 'I believe that going to the cinema') and 'it people would go' (should be 'if people go'). There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and sentence fragments. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the overall clarity of your writing. Focus on mastering basic sentence construction before attempting more complex structures.
